I’m Hamish, the founder of HEREDITAS.
I have always been fascinated by ancient history and mythology — the old tales of legends from another time. What holds me is not the spectacle of them but the meaning underneath: what these stories were actually trying to say, and why they have outlasted almost everything written since.
The bravery of Theseus. The honour of Odysseus. The leadership of Leonidas. Figures like these have inspired me for as long as I can remember, and at some point admiring them stopped being enough. I wanted to make something that shared that passion with other people.
So I created HEREDITAS: a clothing brand built on heroic values, made to inspire.
Every piece begins as an original design — Ancient Greece, mythology, Ancient Rome, and a good deal more still to come.

How HEREDITAS works
HEREDITAS is run from Brisbane, Queensland. Nothing is held in stock. Each garment is printed when it is ordered, which is why there is a wait, and why there is no sale rack.
It is also why every new order is held for 24 hours before it goes into production. If you have picked the wrong size, tell us inside that window and we will change it at no cost.
The shirts are Comfort Colors 1717 — garment-dyed, heavyweight, ring-spun US cotton. The hoodie is made and printed in a workshop in the United States, which is why an American order arrives faster than an Australian one.
The myths belong to everyone. These particular designs do not.
